The Vest

Whether the winter in your neighborhood is a consistent cold one or an everchanging season of surprise temps, layers are the way to go.  A vest is a perfect option!

Today's outfit is so basic so let's get right into the Outfit Planning Method:

Bottom - Navy pants from Ann Taylor...so many good outfits start with navy pants.

Goes with - Basic unnamed white blouse; I prefer to wear a v-neck top without a collar, as it's most flattering to my shape.

Jewelry - This beautiful Marina necklace from Plunder www.plunderdesign.com/karensfashiontipoftheday/ can be worn long or doubled, and has a "lobster claw" that can grab any pendant you may want to add!  I added long statement earrings and a turquoise bracelet.  I find that turquoise always adds energy and a pop of color in every season.

Shoes - Navy flats (although I'll admit I had to wear rain boots)...

Top Layer - The vest!  Being petite and busty, it's hard for me to find a vest that fits, but this size large petite is so great I'm sure I'll keep it forever.  This vest has side pockets and the brand name is Onque, a brand sold by Steinmart.

Bag - I bought this silver backpack to go on a trip to the Grand Canyon.  At the time, it seemed a little too fancy, and a bit heavy.  It works really well as a purse, and it even has side pockets where a water bottle can fit!

To tweak this outfit, I would roll up the sleeves, and possibly add some heels.  Pull some basics out of your closet, add a vest, and see what you can come up with!  And stay warm...or cool!

We all have to get dressed every day anyway so we might as well have some fun!
