Small Changes

Happy month of June.  Are you feeling happy?  Most days I wake up happy, thankful to be alive another day, looking forward to many things I want to accomplish.  Other days, headaches, weather, stress, the news, COVID-19.  One way I make my day a little brighter is by taking care of myself and dressing up a little more than actually needed for my stay at home routine.  Some of you are already getting out and about, but this silver-threaded grandmother of two is still staying the course.  Wherever your path leads you, remember that a little lipstick and jewelry go a long way.  These earrings are abalone shell and sterling silver.  Why save them for a special occasion?  Whenever I wear white, I really need jewelry.  I paired the earrings with a cute shell and starfish necklace I got last year at the beach.  Ah, those beach memories are keeping me company this year!  I'm also wearing a pearl bracelet from The Pearl Lady (see last month's blog) and a "Be Kind" beaded bracelet.

Today, I'm showing you how to get two different looks with just small changes in your outfit. For look #1, an elegant classic outfit, the bottom is a pair of beautiful white linen blend Banana Republic pants.  It goes with my favorite gray tee shirt; it's not the usual cotton tee, but a viscose blend, made by Cable and Gauge.

Jewelry is a pair of hot pink bobbly earrings and matching bracelet, along with The Pearl Lady's 5-beaded pearl and cord bracelet.  Shoes are silver Steve Madden flat sandals, deliciously comfortable.  And the top layer is a simple white cardigan from Ann Taylor Loft.

Now scoot on over to look #2.  I have only changed the pants and shoes, and yet the vibe is now playful and bold.  These stretchy pull on Attyre hot pink pants have lace cutouts at the ankle.  The Bobs espadrilles were on special last summer at Costco.

Hope you are now inspired to make small changes.

We all have to get dressed every day anyway, so we might as well have some fun!

-Karen
