Decisions, Decisions

As you prepare for your day, I'm sure, like me, you check the weather before choosing your outfit.  I'm extremely sensitive to temperatures, and people who know me well understand that my zone of comfort is basically 70-75 degrees F!  So, although I'm madly looking forward to summer (in Nashville, spring is basically here), I still have to bundle up in long pants, long sleeves and sweaters, and closed shoes. Nevertheless, I'm still planning for summer, and looking forward to a possible post-vaccine beach vacation, which means finding a bathing suit...but we'll leave that adventure for a future post!

The current mission of this blog is not to sell you anything (although I do mention the brands sometimes), nor to follow the latest trends, but instead to simply help you get dressed, in your best way, your best outfit, the best pieces, for you.  It's mostly been a self-discovery for me, with the hope that somehow you will benefit from my mistakes and learning.

Every day, I have to make so many decisions regarding my outfit. I may start with a piece I feel like wearing, or a color I want to enjoy.  Today, I started with the snakeskin pattern Old Navy cropped leggings.  I bought these with summer in mind, and paired them with a light gray tee (the "tall" size so that it would be long enough for leggings) and my favorite UGG sandals. Unfortunately, at 36 degrees this morning, I felt too chilly.  Thus began the metamorphosis of the outfit of the day (OOTD).

I added my new oversize Chico's "denim" tunic shirt, and felt a little warmer.  Then I realized that my legs were still cold, so I switched to long charcoal gray leggings.  Ah, that felt better, but the toes were still chilly.  I grabbed my favorite flats.  Finally!  Unfortunately, I started to wonder...which outfit actually looked better?  Is my style "comfort no matter what" or do I care about proportions and creating a more attractive silhouette (yes, the denim shirt is quite big)?  What do you think?  Feel free to send a comment and let me know which leggings look better, and why!

Today I chose to wear a beautiful pearl choker that is delicate, understated, feminine, classy.  But I felt something was missing, so I added a long necklace.  Was this now too many pearls?  You be the judge.  Which necklace goes better with the denim top?  Let me know what you think!

We all have to get dressed every day anyway so we may as well have a little fun!
